short term
If you are a short-term missionary seeking support, we encourage you to follow the Lord’s leading in securing short-term missions assignments, especially those that emphasize evangelizing, encouraging Christians, and equipping and growing churches. Many Chapel members pursue such assignments each year. Because of the number who go, and our wish to support each of you, we have established certain guidelines that will assist you as we communicate, pray, and prepare for your trip. We look forward to growth in the church…and in you as a result of the trip you are about to undertake. May God richly bless you!
Guidelines:
- Please contact The Chapel missions committee as soon as you are confirmed in your assignment.
- Please communicate with us in writing using the Short-term Application (found above). If possible, attach to the application a copy of what you submitted to your sending agency (college, church, mission, etc.) that includes your testimony, your reason for wanting to participate in the short-term project and your financial needs.
- Please provide the missions committee with a picture of you or your team that we can use on the prayer display board.
- Please send us prayer requests regarding your trip so we can pray in a specific way for you.
- Please plan on providing a brief report to the committee after you return.
- We ask you to raise as much of your own funding as possible before The Chapel contributes to your trip needs. When you ask for contributions from Chapel members, please solicit only those people in The Chapel with whom you have a personal relationship, rather than sending a general mailing to the whole church.
- Please make the missions committee aware of your remaining financial needs at least two weeks before funds are due. Generally the committee can support short-term opportunities with funds no more than $300 per person per trip, based upon need.
